MANILA, Philippines — Round P350 million price of used garments or “ukay-ukay” and mosquito coils have been found throughout a raid at a Bulacan warehouse, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported on Friday.

In a press release, the BOC stated a letter of authority (LOA) was issued by Customs Commissioner Bien Rubio towards the warehouses positioned at M. Villarica Street, Barangay Sta. Rosa 1 in Marilao.

Operatives acted on reviews the commodities, believed to be smuggled into the nation, have been being saved within the facility.

“The workforce inspected the warehouses and located them to include used clothes or ukay-ukay, mosquito coils, IPR-infringing (mental property rights) items, and different suspected smuggled imported items,” Rubio stated.

Brokers from Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Manila Worldwide Container Port enforced the LOA on Thursday.

The operation was made doable with the assistance of the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Nationwide Police in Marilao, and Barangay Sta. Rosa 1 native officers.

The warehouses have been closed, with the workforce padlocking the gates of the amenities.
